Collins Bargione & Vuckovich is committed to providing the highest level of representation in all phases of litigation, including, when necessary, the appellate process. An appeal can be a critical time when a win must be defended, or it can be the necessary opportunity to correct the outcome of the lower court’s adverse ruling. Through our appellate practice, we provide complete representation for our existing clients. We also accept new appellate matters for clients seeking appellate representation. We also co-counsel with other lawyers who are seeking the addition of appellate counsel. CBV lawyers are highly experienced appellate advocates and have argued before the appellate courts of Illinois. 

We have extensive experience in a wide variety of appellate matters.

 Representative appellate matters:

·      Represented defendants accused of securities law violations and common law fraud before the trial court and successfully obtained dismissal of the complaint. The dismissal was defended on appeal. Initially, the appellate court affirmed in part and reversed in part . Following a successful petition for rehearing before the appellate court, the trial court’s dismissal of all counts was affirmed.

·      Represented a defendant at trial in a specific performance matter and successfully moved for a directed finding. Successfully defended the plaintiff bank's post-judgment motion before the trial court. The plaintiff bank appealed. We successfully defended the appeal at oral argument and the trial court’s judgment was affirmed.

·      Represented an individual following an attorney disqualification order regarding the existence of an alleged conflict of interest. The trial court’s disqualification order was reversed.
